Her new novel addresses teenage depression, and the strain and anguish it puts on a mother/daughter relationship. When 15 year old Lana is found after being lost for 4 days, the mystery of what happened to her is only revealed at the end. Meanwhile her mother struggles to understand her mental state, only to be shut out.
